MISIF Directory was first published in 1990 and the book has proven to be useful instrument in promoting members' products as well as the iron and steel industry in Malaysia. To update the business community on the status and development of the Malaysian iron and steel industry, MISIF publishes a report of the industry every two years. This publication is an update of the steel industry, providing data of the industry from 1992 until 2006. It includes sectoral reports and forecast until 2010.

MISIF is a country member of the regional ASEAN Iron and Steel Industry Federation (AISIF), an organization dedicated to promoting trade and investment of the industry regionally.
MISIF provides Secretariat support to AISIF as one of the activities, has published the 2007 AISIF Directory, a bi-ennual publication that lists major steel companies in the ASEAN (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar)
